True enough, GBP fan... and that, I think, is the ultimate slap in the face of diehard fans of any Franchise.

Both other Sports have a bad gimmick of making these so-called Blockbuster trades about midseason or so, and suddenly fans are left out in the cold. I've never been a fan of that nonsense and constantly compare David Stern to Napoleon. MLB's overseer also had issues, even with being the Owner of the Brewers at the same time. If anything, MLB and the NBA could learna a thing or two with sharing of TV revenues and other types of sharing. Yet, they don't. NOW, the NFL is no longer fighting it, they are JOINING it. I blame Robert Kraft and others like him, including JERRY JONES. These old farts only care about their one-ups-man-ship against each other. It seriously isn't anything other than that. Their private piggybanks will suffer no damage if (say) the Cowboys go bankrupt. And, THAT, is wrong. They all get enough taxpayer dollar as it is, when they should get NONE. Golf Courses don't need to do it that way, neither should these ultra-wealthy Owners. And, their own cash should be at stake in the process, like any other Business man.

The Players are why we watch the game. Let's see the Owners get out there, then see who hangs around. My bet is, with the right Financial Counselor, the Players could very well create their own situations for bringing the game to the public. Then what do these Owners do... Fade away, that's what.

They should leave everything as it is. Or, let's just see them get real greedy as they are trting right now... and guess what... they will end up having the anti-trust protection taken away and it won't be because they haven't taken care of the oldtimer greats who are now having health issues. It will be because the politicians are saying "Hey, where's MY cut, or else" .... that's what will happen. And, THEN (?) I just want a ringside seat for that nonsense.

This is just another case of the rich trying to get richer, when they couldn't personally spend all of their wealth before their death anyway.

Oh, and since it's so important, how about they give back the TARP money (tax money) every City gives out to build their Houses for them...

Of all the sports, a lack of a CBA in the NFL would be the worst. Players leave small-market teams for bigger contracts in all sports, but it would be much worse in football. The average NFL career lasts only three seasons, and players try to make as much money as they can, as fast as they can. Still, these players make more in a few months than some people make in a lifetime, so there is still no excuse. Even the lowest NFL contract would be considered outrageous in any other job field.
