But, he sure ended up with a heckuva situation that he allowed to draw out and get muckier as the summer went on. I think he should have recognized the impact this was having on the fan base, on the team, and on the quarterback he wanted to lead the team and pulled the pin a lot faster than what he did.<br /><br />David, that&#39;s a question we&#39;ll never know. I think the furor from a release would be minimal against TT, because it would have then been Favre&#39;s choice to go to Minnesota. I think the furor of a trade would be similar to what he went though last summer, but it still would have come down to Favre&#39;s public statement that he wanted to be traded to __, __, or __.C.D. You totally under-estimate the reaction of the fans if Favre would have been traded to the Vikings AT THAT TIME. A vast majority of fans would have pinned the blame on TT for Favre in purple and they would have ran him out of town. No way any Packer GM would have made that trade last summer. Are you high? Thompson would have been thrown out of town within a week. No way Packer fans would have accepted that at that time.
